Norman Savitt

I met Norman Savitt in Fisherman's Wharf Youth Hostel. In the laundry room, he was half-naked, veiling his bottom with a long towel (not a big-sized bath towel).
Obviously, he was waiting for the washer to be done and had no spare clothes.
My new New Yorker friend introduced himself to him that he was a sound engineer and played the guitar and Savitt responded in light and fast utterance that he played the guitar and New Yorker too.

He told me about his travels...he would sleep under the bridge of somewhere in the States, eating grass or something...
I never imagined that "could-be-a-homeless" (sorry!) guy could play such a meditative, good music.
